Joshua Tree

One week ago, I spent the weekend at Joshua Tree camping and climbing and scampering. I left straight from work on Friday for a great evening under the stars with a few friends. The other half of the group was planning to arrive Saturday morning and start the adventure.

Friday night however was not as decent as expected. Around 10PM, these Norcal Bros from San Francisco showed up bumping teeny bop music and then continued to shout, yell, laugh, trigger car alarms, get drunk and high throughout the entire night. In fact, the main perpetrator was their friend named Pat the DB and he woke me up at 5am and I could not fall back asleep. Fantastico.

So I decided to start taking pictures that day.

Orions Belt and the planet Venus. We also saw a few shooting stars throughout the night.

“This is called a bola. Throw it at me.”

The tree roots split the rock open at the top of the peak.

I stood there for a while looking at the tree/rock because it was so interesting. It stood on top of the peak we climbed that morning. Then we walked further and I reenacted the tree/rock relationship.

Johnny Sideburns on top of the world. Kind of.

“Alright guys, your turn.”

Joshua Tree is such a beautiful place. The scenery is so surreal at some places that you are just caught slightly off guard at the beauty of it and asking yourself how a place like this could exist.

If you have never been there before, you should get on it. Now.

Until next time, cheers.
