Music Box: Alex Cornish

I’m getting back to the unknowns but the hidden gems in my musical collection. This month’s Music Box features Alex Cornish…an amazingly talented singer/songwriter from Edinburgh, Scotland. (pr. ed-in-BUR-uh) (not E-den-berg). Bloody American pronunciations.

His acoustic sounds reminds me of those times when I am surfing and the waves are just lulling me in between the sets. I’m just floating in happiness as the waves gently move me up and down in beautiful rhythm. Other than that, I really don’t know too much about him except that he looks a heck of a lot like Seth Meyers from SNL.

From the very first few notes of the first song in his album… you realize you are listening to a musician with great attention to detail and emotion. Every. Single. Song. In. His. Album. Is. Very. Good.

Check it out:

Someone put a movie trailer to his song…I don’t really care for the movie but the song is AMAZING.

Here’s #2:

The song is actually called “Skyline of Paris”

And here’s #3:

Live performance of “Breathe Slow”

I just want to hug everybody after that song. Make sure you grab his album:

Artist: Alex Cornish
Albums: No Shore

Suggested Music:

Artist: Little Hurricane
Album: Homewrecker
Little Hurricanes sounds like The White Stripes meets The Black Keys…a very good combination…

Little Hurricane – Give Em Hell

Little Hurricane – Crocodile Tears

Sometimes you just feel the need to dance to weird, sexy, French music… right?…

MTGD – Broken Toy Boy

Those crazy French…
